POSITION SUMMARY:

Electrical Assembly Technician is a key member of Bauer’s manufacturing team, responsible for building, wiring, and integrating complex electrical systems for custom test equipment and machinery. This position requires a high level of technical capability, adaptability across a variety of applications, and the ability to work independently from electrical schematics, blueprints, and bills of material. Technicians in this role are expected to take ownership of their work, collaborate closely with engineers and other departments, and contribute to continuous improvement across our electrical assembly processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aerospace industry standards and practices, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and accuracy.

Essential Functions (includes, but not limited to):
  • Build, wire, and install electrical panels, harnesses, and components in accordance with engineered drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Work independently to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics, identifying potential design or build improvements
  • Support a wide range of applications including control systems, high- and low-voltage wiring, instrumentation, and system integration
  • Collaborate with engineering and mechanical assembly teams to ensure proper fit, function, and quality of completed systems
  • Perform functional and continuity testing using appropriate electrical test equipment
  • Operate electrical meters, for both AC and DC circuits
  • Provide feedback on manufacturability, wiring practices, and design improvements to engineering and management
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment while adhering to company and industry safety standards
  • Support and mentor less experienced technicians when required
Qualifications

Required:
  • U.S. Persons only, per ITAR regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to assemble complex electrical systems and control panels from schematics and wiring diagrams with minimal supervision
  • Skilled in wire preparation, labeling, and termination for both low-voltage signal and high-voltage power circuits
  • Experience with conduit and cable routing, fittings, cable assemblies, and harnessing
  • Proficient with hand tools, crimping, soldering, and power tools used in electrical assembly
  • Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, and automation components is a strong plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot wiring and system integration issues effectively and independently
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing project types, priorities, and build configurations
  • Strong communicator and collaborator—comfortable working with engineering, mechanical assembly, and management
  • Self-driven and quality-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to safely lift up to 25 lbs.
REQUIRED

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Preferred 3+ years of relevant electrical assembly or panel-building experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring standards, and applicable electrical codes
  • Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently across multiple concurrent projects
  • Safety-conscious and dependable, with a commitment to maintaining a positive and professional work environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical trade school or electrical certification preferred
