Position Summary:

Novo Precision is seeking an experienced Cut-to-Length Setup & Process Technician to support our wire processing operations. This is a hands‑on technical position requiring strong experience in machine setup, wire processing, quality, and mechanical troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate understands different wire materials, diameters, gauges, and characteristics and how they affect straightening, feeding, cutting, tooling, and finished‑part quality. This individual will also serve as a technical resource within the department, helping troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and train operators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complete setups and changeovers on cut-to-length and wire-processing equipment.
  • Set and adjust straighteners, guides, tooling, feed systems, cut lengths, speeds, and other machine parameters.
  • Understand and work with different wire types, materials, gauges, diameters, and tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, tooling, feeding, straightness, cutting, and equipment issues.
  • Make machine adjustments and minor mechanical repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, job travelers, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Perform first‑piece and in‑process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
  • Identify quality issues and make appropriate machine or process adjustments.
  • Ensure finished products meet dimensional, straightness, appearance, and customer requirements.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of machine setup, wire processing, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with wire straightening/cutting, wire forming, coil‑fed, or similar equipment strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of different wire materials, gauges, diameters, and processing characteristics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience with manufacturing quality and inspection processes.
  • Proficient with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing specifications.
  • Ability to independently perform machine setups, diagnose problems, and make adjustments.
  • Previous Team Lead, Trainer, Quality, or Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to train and support less‑experienced operators.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Capable of standing and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods
