Machinist - Tool Room

We are seeking a skilled Tool Room Machinist to join our Bristol, CT team!! In this permanent role, you will focus on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing precision tooling, dies, and fixtures used in spring manufacturing and metal stamping. Using manual machinery and precision measuring tools, you will perform critical repairs and tool modifications to support production efficiency and product quality.

salary: $62,400 - $73,000 per year

• Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex progressive dies, stamping tooling, spring coiling tooling, and secondary fixtures.
• Set up and operate traditional tool room equipment—including manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and drill presses
• Inspect worn or damaged tooling directly or collaborate with press operators and quality inspectors to identify root causes of tool failure or part non-conformance.
• Read and interpret engineered drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications, and sketches.
• Verify precise dimensions using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and indicators.
• Routine polish, sharpening (die sharpening/grinding), clearance adjustment, and preventive maintenance on active tooling inventories
