Position: RN – Med/Surg Telemetry (Full Time, 1st Shift)
Location:
BHI Bristol Hospital Main Campus – Bristol, CT 06010
36 Hours a week, Days. 7:00am–7:30pm, every other weekend.

This role is an integral part of the med/surg telemetry team, providing direct nursing care in accordance with Bristol Health’s policies and evidence‑based protocols.
Responsibilities- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation.
- Carry out physician orders and administer prescribed medication.
- Perform wound care and vital sign monitoring.
- Document and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation and IT tools.
- Orient and mentor new team members.
- Follow universal precautions and use appropriate personal protective equipment.

- CT RN license in good standing.
- Minimum six months of clinical nursing experience in acute or subacute care (preferred).
- ASN required with intent to obtain BSN.
- Active BLS certification required; ACLS preferred upon hire and offered within 6 months.
- Current State of Connecticut licensure as a Registered Nurse; certification from a professional nursing body preferred.
- Successfully complete general orientation, Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually, Health Care Provider BLS from AHA, and all training programs as determined by Education & HRD.
- Complete unit‑based competency package and unit‑specific items; strong team skills.
- Must be willing to float or be reassigned to other departments, units, offices or locations as needed.
- Perform repetitive activities including walking, running, bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, standing, sitting, and twisting.
- Lift greater than 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
- Look at a computer monitor.
- Vision acuity correctable to normal.
- Hearing acuity correctable to normal.
- Ability to verbalize clearly.
Regular exposure to patient elements and occasional stress.
