Outside Electrician - Skilled

Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Outside Electricians Department as we continue to build the most advanced submarines.

• Install wireways supporting cables in submarines.
• Install cables and electrical components (nuclear and non-nuclear) ranging from large power distribution switchboards to telephones (also includes control, power, electronics, and weapon systems).
• Install, tag out, and test ship's lighting.
• Hook up cables to electrical components in accordance with NAVSEA methods and procedures, such as hardwire and connectionization.
• Groom electrical components for a variety of inspections, and provide documentation for every job performed. Mechanics are provided with skills, including vulcanization of ship's cables and the installation and maintenance of shipboard temporary services.
• Applicants will be tasked to learn power and data/signal cable splicing.

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED or 2+ years related technical experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Must be available for all shifts.

• Vocational, Technical Colleges, Apprentice programs, Military, Shipbuilding, and Manufacturing experience.
• Successful completion of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative Training Program.
