Content Platform & Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney’s entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and managing a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format.

This team also manages technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Content Platform Engineering team, focusing on building and enhancing platform capabilities with a strong emphasis on supporting our existing suite of Media Services. Our team develops and manages a diverse suite of products and services that power Disney’s media supply chain, supporting content delivery for iconic brands like Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, ABC, Marvel, and Star Wars.

In this role, you will design and implement scalable content workflows, data pipelines, and platform services that support media centric workflows. This includes media transformations, video processing, media security, and content management. You will work closely with an existing team working on expanding Disney’s internal capability set, thereby reducing reliance and saving costs on external vendor needs. Leveraging software engineering principles and cloud infrastructure, you will build robust, extensible services that drive autonomous content workflows at scale.

  • Write and Maintain Software Solutions
    :
    Design, write, test, and deploy high-quality code to develop reliable, maintainable software solutions.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams
    :
    Work closely with platform engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions effectively support business goals and content strategies.
  • Production Support
    :
    Monitor and optimize production systems, ensuring platform stability, performance, and uptime.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years relevant industry experience
  • Proficiency in at least one core programming language (e.g., Java, Python, or C/C++)
  • Experience working with REST APIs or Graph

    QL for building and consuming web services.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and their core services (e.g., S3, Lambda, EC2).
  • Solid understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Experience with build and deployment technologies such as Docker, Gitlab-CI, Terraform/Cloud formation, and Jenkins
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
