Role Description The Pipe Foreman role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bucks, Montgomery and Chester Counties of Pennsylvania. The Pipe Foreman oversees pipe crews installing storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water mains, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and according to plans and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing and directing crew activities, reading and interpreting blueprints, coordinating equipment and material needs, and monitoring project progress and quality.
The role also involves enforcing safety procedures, communicating with project management, addressing field issues, and maintaining accurate daily reports. The Pipe Foreman actively supports a culture of safety, teamwork, and efficient job-site operations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading pipe crews on civil or utility construction projects, including storm, sanitary, and water main installation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site plans, and translate them into actionable field activities.
- Strong knowledge of excavation practices, trench safety, pipe laying techniques, and compaction requirements.
- Proficiency in coordinating labor, equipment, and materials to meet schedule and quality standards.
- Commitment to safety, with practical understanding of OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide diverse crews and collaborate with supervisors, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Basic recordkeeping skills for documenting daily activities, quantities, and job-site conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Chester County, PA job sites.
- Previous experience as a foreman or lead in heavy civil, utility, or site work construction strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in construction or utilities is beneficial.
