Safety Coordinator

The Safety Coordinator will support the Safety Department in managing day-to-day environmental, health, and safety activities and promoting a safe, compliant workplace. This position will have a strong focus on employee training, OSHA compliance, hazard identification, accident prevention, safety inspections, and effective communication throughout the organization.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on safety professional who can engage employees at all levels, deliver effective safety training, identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, and help drive a strong safety culture.

• Serve as the primary Forklift and Pallet Jack Trainer, providing training and maintaining required documentation.
• Facilitate new-hire Safety Orientation and ensure new employees receive all required safety information and training.
• Coordinate chemical management activities and serve as the Hazard Communication (Haz Com) / GHS Coordinator.
• Provide training on Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Hazard Communication, and other required safety programs.
• Coordinate and conduct all required EHS training programs throughout the company.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and facilitate STOP Safety Observations.
• Develop, implement, communicate, and enforce OSHA-related safety guidelines, policies, and requirements.
• Ensure required monthly departmental safety training is completed and documented.
• Direct and support accident and incident investigation procedures, including identification of root causes and corrective actions.
• Intervene when unsafe activities, behaviors, or operating conditions are observed and take appropriate action to mitigate risk.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Recommend and assist with implementation of corrective and preventive measures to reduce workplace hazards and injuries.
• Participate in and support safety meetings and safety initiatives.
• Provide Spanish/English safety translation and interpretation for employees, the Safety Director, and other personnel as needed.
• Assist employees with safety-related questions, concerns, and issues.
• Support the EHS Director and Safety Department with additional safety responsibilities and projects as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent required;college degree preferred.
• Previous experience in occupational safety, EHS, manufacturing safety, or a related field preferred.
• Experience conducting safety training and/or workplace safety inspections preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and workplace safety practices preferred.

• Valid driver's license required.
• Forklift / Pallet Jack certification or license preferred.
• Strong listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to assist employees with safety-related questions and concerns.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to effectively conduct training and communicate safety requirements to employees at all levels.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required, including the ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively in both languages.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling safety-related incidents and employee concerns.
