DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports individuals and families who are working toward stable housing and stronger daily living. The work brings you into regular contact with community partners to create lasting housing success. As a County Caseworker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Referral Coordination: Coordinate referrals by gathering information and meeting with the consumer and referral source
- Needs Assessment: Conduct initial assessments to understand individual housing and support needs
- Support Planning: Develop flexible housing plans that address system navigation, emergency housing, rental assistance, and related needs
- Team
Collaboration:
Participate in case reviews and help resolve issues through a team-based approach - Housing Support: Provide guidance to case managers and offer ongoing support to consumers transitioning to independent living
- Financial
Education:
Offer budgeting and financial skills training to consumers receiving services
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
