Job Description:

The External Relations Coordinator supports the School of Law's strategic external engagement, reputation-building, and operational effectiveness. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Strategy, External Relations & Enrollment, this position plays a key role in executing external communications initiatives, supporting high-visibility academic programming, and providing administrative and operational support within the Associate Dean's portfolio.

The Coordinator works collaboratively across the law school, including close coordination with the Assistant Dean of Career Development on alumni-related communications and engagement initiatives. The role requires strong execution skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced academic environment.

External Relations & Strategic Communications

Execute targeted email communications to external audiences, including alumni, peer law school leaders, faculty, and professional partners, in support of the law school's visibility and reputation.

Implement external email campaigns using platforms such as Constant Contact and Mailchimp, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with institutional messaging.

Support communications planning and execution for key outward facing initiatives.

Support external relations offices with project management of law school marketing projects

Oversee the School of Law's Alumni social media channels and assist with School of Law wide channels.

Create, maintain, and manage processes for facilitating the transfer of data to and from our digital marking partners, while ensuring the accuracy of the transmission and that the data is properly added to the Admissions CRM.

Create visuals in Canva to use in law school social media and for events related projects.

Alumni Engagement & Events Coordination

Work closely with the Assistant Dean of Career Development to support alumni engagement initiatives, including planning and coordination of alumni-facing events and programs.

Assist in the execution of alumni events that strengthen relationships between alumni, students, faculty, and law school leadership.

Coordinate event logistics, communications, and follow-up for alumni programs, including invitations, registrations, and post-event outreach.

Support initiatives that connect alumni to the academic and professional life of the law school and enhance long-term engagement.

Alumni & External Data Support

Assist in maintaining and utilizing alumni and external contact data using Raiser's Edge and related systems to support communications and engagement efforts.

Help identify key alumni and external constituencies for targeted outreach and relationship-building.

Ensure accuracy and consistency of alumni and external contact information used for communications and events.

Administrative & Operational Support

Oversee administrative and operational tasks within the Associate Dean's portfolio, including but not limited to budget tracking, purchasing, and contracts in compliance with university policies.

Prepare materials, coordinate logistics, and support internal workflows to ensure efficient operation of strategy, external relations, and enrollment initiatives.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required.

Strong written communication skills with demonstrated experience executing professional communications.

High level of organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.

Experience with email marketing or digital communication platforms.

Experience using Canva.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Ability to oversee occasional events at night or on weekends both on campus and off campus.

Ability to travel throughout the region for external relations priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Two to three years of relevant experience in higher education administration, external relations, communications, or a related field.

Experience in a law school or professional school environment.
