Job Description:
Under the direction of the Director, Center for Counseling and Student Development, the fellow will provide individual and group counseling to students seeking services at the Counseling Center. Other roles include crisis management, consultation to parents, staff and faculty, psycho educational programming, and working collaboratively with other departments.
This position starts on:
Monday, August 11, 2025.
Counseling
* Provide individual and group counseling with students experiencing personal/social/family and related concerns.
* Provide crisis management assistance as assigned.
* Coordinate and provide outreach activities such as workshops, seminars and lectures.
* Provide consultation to parents, faculty, staff and administrators.
* Coordinate the Didactic Education series for the pre-doctoral interns.
Additional Functions
* Participate in committees, as assigned.
This is a one-year full-time position with benefits.
Requirements:
* Doctorate degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology.
* Individual and group clinical skills with experience in crisis intervention, consultation and psychological assessment.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills to obtain and impact information, usually of a sensitive nature.
* Strong listening and evaluative skills to work with students, parents and University involved individuals in an objective and confidential manner.
* Sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural differences.
* Adherence to legal and ethical standards.
* Available to work extended hours on occasion for outreach, campus events or emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications
* Completion of a doctorate degree from a Counseling or Clinical Psychology program accredited by APA.
* Experience in coordinating campus-wide mental health education programs.
* One or more internships in a university or college counseling center.
At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
