Job Description

The Creative Writing Program seeks applicants for the 2026-27 academic year to teach one of our two introductory courses, CW110 Narrative in Prose. This course is taken by creative writing majors and minors, as well as by non‑majors in fulfillment of the university's general‑education Creative Arts requirement.

Narrative in Prose involves guiding students on a critical study of the elements of narrative structure and design in fiction and nonfiction, such as character development, point of view, tone, setting, plotting, and time management.

Job Requirements

An applicant should hold a graduate degree in creative writing, or possibly in a related field, in combination with a record of publication of creative work.

At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
