Job Description

Complete individual screenings (vision, hearing, speech-language, and general development) for preschool-age children at various sites.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Administer, record, and score screening tests; use instrumentation according to prescribed protocols and ethical standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding family history, child’s medical/educational history, and performance during screening.
  • Work collaboratively with the Child Outreach Coordinator, Early Childhood Coordinator, and other screeners.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of performance and accept feedback from the EC Coordinator.
  • Participate in formal trainings provided through the state and district Child Outreach programs.
  • Refer families and caregivers to the Child Outreach Coordinator/Early Childhood Coordinator for concerns about the screening process or related topics.
  • Follow all district policies, administrative regulations, and directives pertaining to the position.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by the Early Childhood Coordinator or district administration.
  • Job Requirements

    Reports to: Director of Pupil Personnel, Child Outreach Coordinator / Early Childhood Coordinator

    • High School Diploma (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
    • Training and/or experience related to child development and working with young children
    • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
