Mechanical Design Engineer
This Mechanical Design Engineer assists with in‑house engineering and design work, creating and editing 3D models, CNC program files, and 2D technical drawings. The position reports to the Design and Engineering Manager and may work on the shop floor to learn and assist with lay‑up, assembly, and outfit of components.
Essential Functions- Uses CAD/CAM software to develop designs.
- Plans and executes mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs.
- Computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, clearances, and tolerances.
- Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.
- Provides support to the CNC team, production, and quality departments to ensure customers’ requirements are met.
- Ensures products meet compliance regulations.
- Prepares technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
- Keeps abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience.
- Knowledge of production and manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Skilled in Solid Works.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of composite raw materials.
- Knowledge of machines and tools.
- BOM development experience.
- Experience with Rhino 5.
- Experience in FEA.

Work Environment and Physical DemandsThe role requires time on the shop floor with exposure to noise, moving parts, dust, and fumes. It also involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and conferencing equipment.
Position Type & Expected Work HoursThis is a full‑time salaried position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Additional hours and weekend work may be required.
TravelMinimal travel is expected.
