SAAB is seeking a Lead Electrical R&D Engineer for our Engineering & Design team in the Defense & Aerospace sector. You will lead design, prototyping, and validation of advanced electrical and embedded systems for cutting-edge defense platforms. Responsibilities include system architecture, circuit design, simulation, integration, and compliance with military and safety standards. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with systems, mechanical, and software teams, and drive innovation from concept through production, ensuring performance, reliability, and documentation for global defense and security customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical architecture and detailed circuit design for defense and aerospace systems
- Own R&D lifecycle from concept, simulation, and prototyping to verification and production handoff
- Perform analysis, modeling, and simulation of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits
- Ensure compliance with defense, aerospace, EMC/EMI, and safety standards and regulations
- Lead system integration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for complex electronics
- Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and software teams on requirements and interfaces
- Prepare technical documentation, design reviews, and configuration control records
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to technical roadmaps and innovation
- Support customer and stakeholder technical discussions, proposals, and design trade studies
- Drive continuous improvement in design methods, test strategies, and development processes
Required Skills
