Electronics Design Engineer

SAAB is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team in Defense & Aerospace. You will design, analyze, and verify advanced electronic systems for cutting-edge defense and security applications. Responsibilities include schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, component selection, signal integrity and power analysis, prototyping, and lab test/validation. You will collaborate closely with systems, firmware, and mechanical engineers to ensure robust, efficient designs that meet stringent military and civil requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop digital and analog electronic circuits for defense and aerospace systems
• Perform schematic capture and guide PCB layout for high reliability designs
• Select components and perform derating and reliability analyses to meet military standards
• Conduct signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analyses
• Prototype, debug, and validate hardware using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
• Support system integration, verification, and environmental/EMC testing
• Collaborate with systems, firmware, and mechanical engineers to meet system requirements
• Create and maintain design documentation, BOMs, and test reports
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., MIL STD, DO 254 where applicable)
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement of design processes
