Job Description & How to Apply Below

Linden Place, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operated by the Friends of Linden Place is a preeminent example of Federal-style architecture built in 1810 by George DeWolf. During an era when the sea was America's trading highway the DeWolf family amassed great wealth, much of it through the transatlantic slave trade. When the country outlawed the slave trade DeWolf abandoned Bristol, but subsequent generations made a different contribution to American History.

Perhaps the mansion's most famous occupant was Colonel Samuel Pomeroy Colt a DeWolf grandson who founded Industrial Trust Bank and U.S. Rubber.

His philanthropy and political influence in Bristol, Rhode Island and beyond was a critical turning point in the town's social history and helped make the region a premier destination for locals and tourists alike. Family descendants occupied the house for 177 years until the Friends of Linden Place assumed ownership in1988.Today the Mansion is a crossroads of history plays host to significant events throughout the year.
