Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Nursing supports the Director of Nursing in the overall clinical operation of the facility. This role assists with nursing supervision, regulatory readiness, staff education, quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional resident care.
Responsibilities include:
Assist in overseeing daily nursing operations and clinical services
Support staffing, scheduling, and nursing supervision
Monitor quality of care and compliance with state and federal regulations
Assist with survey readiness and plan of correction follow-through
Provide leadership, coaching, and support to nursing staff
Participate in clinical audits, investigations, and performance improvement initiatives
Help ensure proper documentation, infection control practices, and resident safety standards are maintained
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote strong clinical outcomes and customer service
Qualifications:
Current RN license in Rhode Island/Compact required
Previous long-term care leadership experience preferred
Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to balance support and accountability with staff
Commitment to resident-centered care and team collaboration
