Electrician/ Electrician Installation, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Description
To assist the Mechanical & Electrical Supervisor in maintaining and/or operating all electrical equipment, materials and facilities of the University.
Responsibilities- Perform all work related to the maintenance, repair, and operation of the electrical distribution systems throughout the campus.
- Provide maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanically or electrically powered equipment and lighting.
- Provide maintenance, installation, and repair of all voltage distribution systems including low voltage, fire alarm systems, and accessories.
- Coordinate with Electrician Journeyman and Electricians Apprentice and provide direction on specific electrical jobs.
- Electrician Master may provide direction to Electrician Journeyman and Electricians Apprentice as it pertains to specific electrical work.
- Electrician Journeyman may provide direction to the Electricians Apprentice as it pertains to specific electrical work.
This is a full-time (40‑hour) Facilities Management Union position.
Benefits and Compensation- $500 signing bonus after a 4‑month probationary period is completed.

- Current Rhode Island electrician master license.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a licensed journeyman electrician.
- Current technical knowledge of electrical and fire alarm systems.
- Ability to provide expert guidance, direction, and remediation to apprentice and/or journeyman electricians to the reasonable satisfaction of management.
- Performs all tasks required of the position without assistance and in a timely manner.
- Candidate may be considered with an equivalent combination of education and experience preparing for success in the position.
