We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support daily payables operations for a busy team in Bristol, Tennessee. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is well suited for someone who can manage large invoice volumes with precision, stay organized under deadlines, and communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on accounts payable experience and a dependable, detail-focused approach to routine financial processing.

Responsibilities:

• Handle a substantial number of invoices each day while ensuring timely and accurate entry into the accounting system.
• Compare purchase orders to billing documents to confirm that quantities, pricing, and other key details align before processing.
• Examine invoices for proper account coding, required approvals, and completeness prior to submission for payment.
• Work directly with vendors to resolve billing discrepancies, answer payment-related questions, and maintain positive business relationships.
• Prepare and process company payments according to established schedules and internal procedures.
• Organize accounts payable files and retain supporting documentation so records remain accessible and audit-ready.
• Provide assistance with related accounting tasks and general administrative support as business needs require.
