CEI Inspector

RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring a CEI Inspector to join our team in East Tennessee. As a CEI Inspector with RK&K you will strengthen our Construction Engineering and Inspection team while performing routine inspections on projects including highway, bridge, design/design-build projects. • Provide construction management support, including inspection, testing, and monitoring of construction to ensure compliance with contract documents
• Fully engage in solving intermediate problems to provide evaluation and sound solutions
• Monitor the activities of other inspectors
• Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
• Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
• Recordkeeping, materials testing, and reporting as required
• Must possess high integrity and ethics in all aspects of dealing with clients, subconsultants, and peers

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) + years of progressive experience in roadway and structures construction
• Working knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and construction methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; and interpret construction plans, provisions, standards, and specifications
• Ability to train, coordinate, and supervise entry level inspection technicians in the field
• Travel to job sites is expected, clean driving record

• Skilled in both roadway and bridge construction
• Survey experience
• Required TDOT certifications
