Senior Automation Engineer
- Up to $130k + Quarterly & Annual Bonus
- Relocation support (On site in Bristol, TN)
A leading manufacturing organisation is looking to add an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to its engineering team. This is a hands-on position with responsibility for improving automation, controls and manufacturing technology across a growing operation.
You'll be involved in a mixture of capital projects, controls engineering, equipment integration and continuous improvement, working closely with plant and engineering teams to improve production performance, reliability and security.
The role- Lead automation and controls projects from design through installation and implementation
- Develop and improve PLC, HMI and control systems across manufacturing equipment
- Support the integration of new machinery, robotics and automated processes
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reliability and system performance
- Work with engineering and operations teams to develop practical automation solutions
- Provide technical support when complex controls and automation issues arise
- Assist with project planning, cost estimates, scheduling and contractor coordination
- Support commissioning, equipment startup and ongoing optimization
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to engineers and plant personnel
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including opportunities to incorporate AI and advanced automation
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 10+ years' experience within a manufacturing engineering environment
- Strong background in industrial automation, controls and capital projects
- Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems
- Experience working with industrial robotics and automated manufacturing equipment
- Ability to read and develop electrical/control system documentation
- Strong understanding of project execution, equipment integration and commissioning
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar engineering software is advantageous
