Textile Machine Operator

Summary:
Responsible for operating and monitoring production of knitted fabrics on multiple machines that differ by make, model and the style of fabrics produced.
Essential Duties:
Promote safety. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed. Monitor fabrics for visible defects and initiate corrective action to eliminate them. Properly set up machines for production runs. Daily housekeeping in work area. Complete paperwork for finished rolls.
Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Use overhead cranes and tow motors to move materials within the production area or to the storage area. The associate is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Demands:
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. HS Diploma/GED required Previous factory experience helpful, but will train Some computer skills preferred All candidates must successfully complete the following: ACT Work Keys Assessments or NCRC Pre-Employment Drug Screen Criminal Background Check
