Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a Hospital Medicine Nocturnist locum tenens opportunity in Bristol, Tennessee.

This role is built around a dedicated NP/PA admitter model within a 263-bed acute-care hospital using Epic EMR. The hospitalist service supports a substantial inpatient environment while giving the APP a clearly defined nocturnist role centered on Hospital Medicine admissions.

For experienced inpatient APPs, this offers a focused way to continue practicing Hospital Medicine on nights. For strong newer graduates, the client has indicated they may be considered depending on site needs.

The facility is part of a broader regional health system supporting tertiary, community, pediatric, surgical, behavioral-health, and women's services.

Clinical Role

The nocturnist APP will support the Hospital Medicine team in a dedicated admitting capacity.

Responsibilities are expected to include:

• Inpatient Hospital Medicine admissions
• Initial patient assessment
• History and physical examination
• Diagnostic review and clinical decision-making
• Development of treatment plans
• Coordination with physicians, nursing, and inpatient support teams
• Epic documentation
• Appropriate escalation and consultation as needed

Specific night-shift hours, admission volume, ICU responsibilities, procedures, code response, and cross-cover expectations will be confirmed directly with the client.

Nurse Practitioner Requirements

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
• AANP or ANCC certification
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Active, unrestricted Tennessee RN license
• Active Tennessee NP license
• Tennessee DEA with Tennessee address
• Prescriptive authority
• ACLS certification
• 2 years recent Hospital Medicine experience preferred
• New graduates may be considered based on site needs

Physician Assistant Requirements

• Physician Assistants are accepted for the requisition
• Active Tennessee licensure and applicable credentialing requirements required
