Position Summary
The Neuroscience Sales Specialist is responsible for achieving sales goals in the assigned territory by building customer relationships, delivering compliant product education, and driving appropriate patient access.
Primary Responsibilities- Promote Acadia products to HCPs in person and virtually with clinical, disease state, and reimbursement information.
- Develop and execute a territory business plan to meet/exceed sales objectives using market data and quarterly action plans.
- Build relationships with HCPs, key opinion leaders, advocacy organizations, and stakeholders.
- Handle questions/objections using advanced selling/dialogue skills.
- Tailor approved sales aids, clinical reprints, and brand resources to customer needs.
- Coordinate with internal teams (managed markets, operations, sales training, marketing).
- Provide guidance on pricing, reimbursement, and specialty distribution; serve as liaison for access issues.
- Track/report sales activities, expenses, and customer interactions.
- Represent the company at meetings/conferences; mentor/train new specialists.
- Deep neuroscience disease-state knowledge and local/regional market understanding.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual platforms (Zoom, Web Ex).
- Payer dynamics knowledge (Part D; specialty pharmacy/hub distribution).
- Bachelor’s degree required; life sciences preferred.
- Sales experience:
Specialist 1–2 years (neuroscience preferred);
Senior 5 years (2+ in complex/account-based);
Executive 12 years (3+ in complex/account-based). - Advanced selling, leadership/business acumen, and strong HCP influence skills.
- Interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills; independent and adaptable.
- Reside within territory (or within 30 miles); valid driver’s license.
- Travel as required (up to ~80%); vaccination compliance for HCP access.
