Carer for a 60 Y/O female P/T @ £11.50/hr in Bristol

PART-TIME EVENING CARER REQUIRED FOR 60-YEAR-OLD FEMALE (MOSTLY BEDRIDDEN)

Seeking carer for 60-year-old female with limited mobility. Carer must be tolerant of client smoking and comfortable with pets. Two hours to be agreed over 3-4 nights. Duties include personal care and light housework as well as occasional shopping and ensuring client is comfortable.

Applicant MUST be flexible and reliable. Must also be available for possible holiday/sickness cover. Driver preferred but not essential.

• Discussing client’s day and assist with any admin/phone calls
• Visit local shops if necessary for medication/food and drink
• Providing client with food and drink
• Preparing a hot flask for evening/morning
• Ensuring client’s environment is clean and tidy
• Emptying bins and food waste
• Assist client with medication
• Aid client with nebuliser when required
• Assist client with wash and personal care
• Ensure bathroom and toilet is clean and tidy
• Help client to dress for bed
• Remaking and tidying client’s bed
• Ensure any laundry is completed when necessary
• Perform any other reasonable household duties
• Ensure client’s house is locked when leaving in order to keep client safe

£11.50 per hour.

Two hours daily Mon‑Sun.

Up to five days a week but MINIMUM of 3‑4.

Between hours of 17:00‑20:00. Available hours 8‑14.

It is critical that carer is reliable and flexible as duties are essential for client’s wellbeing.

Carer to be paid monthly directly into bank account at month’s end. Currently £11.50 p/h with pay rise immanent in accordance with the national wage increase (£12.50 p/h from April 2025). This post must be declared.

• Driver (preferred)
• Experienced carer (preferred)
• Good level of English and Maths (ESSENTIAL)
• IT Skills (preferred)
• Confident to deal with nurses/doctors
• Good communication skills
• Two references ESSENTIAL with at least one being from previous/current employer
• DBS Check ESSENTIAL
