Ashton Gate Stadium is a unique sports and entertainment business with the core aim of providing integral support services to ensure the sustainability of Stephen Lansdown’s sporting group of companies which includes Bristol Sport, Bristol City, Bristol Bears, Bristol Flyers Basketball and each of their respective community charities.
JOB PURPOSEEvents Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering all hospitality services and non-matchday events within the stadium. This includes matchday corporate hospitality, conferences, concerts, private functions. The role ensures exceptional guest experiences, revenue growth, and operational excellence in a high-volume, fast-paced stadium environment
Key Responsibilities- Hospitality Management
- Oversee your given section of hospitality on match day
- Conduct regular quality audits of your section event spaces, food service, presentation standards, and customer journey touchpoints..
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through staff coaching, training, and performance management
- Event Planning & Delivery
- Plan and execute non-matchday events and Hospitality on match day
- Plan events following all Stadium brand standards and H&S policies
- Conduct site visits and client consultations.
- Ensure 40 % conversion on none match day events
- Recruit, train, and manage hospitality and events staff.
- Coordinate with stewards, security for none match day events
- Lead pre-event briefings and post-event debrief sessions with operations teams
- Maintain high level of customer service throughout all events and match day hospitality
- Monitor event profitability and ensure all events achieve agreed revenue and margin targets 40 % conversion of all none match day events
- Review all booked hired equipment costs, additional costs to ensure we capture the authorisation of the clint to charge back to the main bill via an email of signed document
- Implement controls to minimise revenue leakage, including accurate guest numbers, stock ordering through the Bars team invoicing, and event reconciliation. Through signatures and confirmation of charges confirmed with event lead or authorised persons

- Experience in hospitality or large-scale event management.
- Experience in a stadium, arena, or large venue environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of football and rugby matchday operations is an advantage.
- Personal License (where applicable) preferred.
- Responsible for ensuring all health and safety procedures arealways followed, with relevant paperwork to support
- To ensure all employees complete their trained required to do their job
- Report all incidents and accidents as required
- To report any hazards detected to maintenance team
- To support reviewing the risk assessments for the department
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours:
5 out of 7 days, including evenings and weekends
