Location: Teesside

Compensation: £23,000 / year

• Starting salary: £23,000 per year
• Monday - Friday
• 40 hours per week
• 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays

• Follow EHS procedures and assist in producing/updating safety documentation.
• Support laboratory investigations, including non-routine analyses and reviewing anomalous results.
• Help implement and expand ISO 17025-accredited methods.
• Assist with maintenance of analytical equipment, manage inventory, and liaise with external companies for servicing and calibration.
• Participate in statistical quality control (SQC) for accredited methods and help extend SQC to other analytical methods, preparing reports and data summaries.
• Support the laboratory management team in preparing for and conducting internal and external audits.

Level 3 qualification in Science or a relevant subject, including Maths, Engineering, or Physics.

Ideally, some laboratory experience gained through education or practical work.

Focused, careful, results‑oriented with good attention to detail, ability to think on your feet, good health and safety awareness, teamwork and communication skills, curiosity for science and willingness to develop technical skills.

Gain a Bachelor of Science (BSci) in Applied Chemical Sciences over 36 months, with 6 hours per week of learning during working hours, combining theory and practical training.
