Location:
Field-based across South West and South Wales
To service, repair, and maintain plant and machinery equipment to manufacturer specifications, ensuring machine reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role is field-based and requires technical autonomy, strong diagnostic capability, and a customer-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and mechanical faults
- Use manufacturer-approved diagnostic software and the company's service management tablet system
- Complete detailed service reports with supporting photographs and accurate time logs
- Identify additional service opportunities and proactively highlight machine defects (with financial incentives for leads)
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Represent the company professionally and build strong customer relationships
- Participate in ongoing training and development through in-house technical training
- Support strategic growth by delivering a consistently high standard of service aligned with company values
- Technical Expertise:
Skilled in fault diagnosis and repair across plant electrics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems - Customer Orientation:
Builds trust, communicates clearly, and delivers service that meets or exceeds expectations - Problem Solving:
Diagnoses issues efficiently and applies logical, effective solutions - Autonomy & Accountability:
Manages own workload, prioritises tasks, and takes ownership of outcomes
Provides clear updates to customers and internal teams; documents work thoroughly
Responds flexibly to changing site conditions and customer requirements
Adheres to safety protocols and proactively identifies risks
Confident using diagnostic software, tablets, and digital reporting tools
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Engineering or equivalent (City & Guilds, SVQ)
- Experience working with construction or agricultural machinery
- Valid UK driving licence
- Previous field service experience desirable
- Independent and confident
