Role:Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will maintain, install, and refurbish fabric and the equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio. They will monitor the condition of GBS buildings, undertake repairs and renovations, and assist Estates and Facilities in the planning of refurbishment projects. This role may require travel to other GBS UK campuses and demands flexible working to accommodate business operations.
They will work a 40‑hour week, covering campus operating hours from Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 9:30 pm, with occasional out‑of‑hours work as required to minimise disruption and ensure the smooth completion of maintenance tasks.
- Preventative and reactive maintenance of building fabric and equipment.
- Building and equipment maintenance, including M&E systems.
- Health, safety and compliance monitoring.
- Documentation and inventory management of tools and materials.
- Refurbishment and fit‑out projects, supporting planning and execution.
- Travel to other campuses and flexible availability to meet business needs.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- City & Guilds Level 2 or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard.
- Previous experience in building maintenance, including M&E systems.
- Manual skills and knowledge of refurbishment techniques.
- Familiarity with COSHH requirements for equipment and chemicals.
- A flexible and proactive “can‑do” attitude.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as part of the wider facilities team.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- 25 days annual leave plus 8 public holidays.
