Join our Bristol team carrying out inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations to BS 7671 across the South West.
About the roleAs an Electrical Test Engineer at Bounty Energy, you'll be the assurance behind every installation we deliver and maintain. You'll inspect, test and certify electrical systems across commercial, industrial and residential sites – making sure they're safe, compliant and performing as they should. It's a role for someone methodical, technically sharp and genuinely proud of getting the detail right.
Key responsibilities- Carry out initial verification and periodic inspection & testing of electrical installations to BS 7671 (18th Edition).
- Produce Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), Electrical Installation Certificates and Minor Works Certificates.
- Diagnose faults, identify remedial works and clearly document findings and recommendations.
- Use and maintain calibrated test instruments (multifunction testers, insulation resistance, RCD, earth loop, etc.).
- Liaise with clients and site teams to schedule and complete testing with minimal disruption.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all works meet health, safety and quality standards.
- City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or 2394/2395 — or equivalent experience.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (City & Guilds 2382) certification.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) and ECS/JIB card.
- Proven experience in inspection and testing across varied installations.
- Strong fault‑finding skills and confident, accurate report writing.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience with commercial, industrial or renewable (solar PV) installations.
- 18th Edition Design (2396) or knowledge of EV charging installations.
- IPAF / PASMA or SSSTS/SMSTS site safety tickets.
- Competitive salary of £35,000–£45,000 depending on experience.
- Company van, fuel card, calibrated test equipment and PPE provided.
