An established and growing lift engineering business is looking to recruit an experienced Lift Service Engineer to take responsibility for a service route covering Bristol and the surrounding areas.
This is a field-based position focused on planned preventative maintenance, breakdown response, fault-finding and minor repairs across a portfolio of lift equipment.
You will manage your own route, ensuring lifts remain safe, reliable and compliant while providing a high standard of service to customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance across your allocated lift portfolio
Attend breakdowns and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults
Aim to achieve a high first-time fix rate and minimise equipment downtime
Complete minor repairs where required to maintain lift operation
Manage your service route effectively and ensure scheduled visits are completed
Identify and report additional repair, upgrade or modernisation requirements
Accurately record completed works using electronic field management systems
Provide professional communication and customer service while on site
Support neighbouring service territories when required
Participate in the night-call rota
Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance and workmanship at all times
NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering Service, Maintenance or Repair essential
Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Lift Service / Callout Engineer
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability
Good technical knowledge across a range of lift equipment
Previous experience managing an allocated service route/portfolio
Strong understanding of lift industry health & safety requirements
Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
Customer-focused with good communication skills
Confident using digital field management systems
Full UK driving licence essential
Night Call
Average 1 in 4 night-call rota, with additional payments made in line with the company's Variable Pay Policy.
Overtime
Overtime calculated against your own hourly salaried rate:
Monday Saturday: 1.5x hourly rate
Sundays & Bank Holidays: 2x hourly rate
Company Vehicle
Company van and fuel card provided, including pre-approved parking applications on the van.
Holiday
25 days' annual leave (January December), plus the option to purchase an additional 5 days each year.
Pension
Aviva pension scheme:
Employee contribution: 5%
Employer contribution: 4%
Death in Service
Canada Life cover from day one, providing 3x base salary.
