Salary:  £40,000 - £47,000 - Negotiable - Plus Bonus

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm - No Weekends
Overtime:  Paid at Time and a Half

The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced and skilled  Vehicle Mechanic / Vehicle Technician  to join a busy, established automotive workshop based in Bedminster, Bristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, hands-on mechanic who enjoys getting stuck into a variety of mechanical work, from routine servicing through to major mechanical repairs.
Our client is looking for someone with strong mechanical knowledge, excellent fault-finding skills and the ability to work independently across a range of makes and models.
Experience working on light commercial vehicles would be a distinct advantage.

The Role
Working as part of an experienced workshop team, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing cars and light commercial vehicles.

Key responsibilities include:

Carrying out major mechanical repairs, including clutches, timing belts/chains, gearboxes and engine repairs.
Undertaking routine servicing, maintenance and general vehicle repairs.
Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults using practical fault-finding techniques and diagnostic equipment.
Working across a variety of vehicle makes and models.
Ensuring repairs are completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
Maintaining accurate records of work undertaken, including parts used and labour time.
Working independently while supporting the wider workshop team.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

What We're Looking For
Minimum  5 years' hands-on experience  as a Vehicle Mechanic or Vehicle Technician.
Proven experience undertaking major mechanical repairs, not just routine servicing.
Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Confidence working independently on complex mechanical repairs.

Experience with in a main dealership or reputable independent garage preferred.
Experience working on light commercial vehicles would be advantageous.
NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent, desirable but not essential.
Experienced, time-served mechanics with strong practical skills are equally encouraged to apply.
A reliable, proactive approach with excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

What's On Offer?
Salary circa £45,000 - negotiable.
