The RoleThis is a pivotal design role within the studio and you’ll be at the heart of driving and delivering creative excellence. You are a lover of design and thrive on building knockout brand experiences — with brilliant creative ideas, design and craft skills, and smart, clear, rational thinking and processes.
The work is varied and fast paced, from finding the elusive ‘big idea’ to finessing the smallest piece of attention to detail – across branding, visual language, digital design, illustrations, storyboarding and moving image requirements.
Comfortable engaging with the strategic dimension of our work, you’ll be able to get under the skin of clients’ issues and help build out effective solutions. Strong, innovative, strategic and on‑brand ideas, storytelling and system thinking.
Working closely with the design team and team members across the agency to bring new ideas, creativity and perspective while delivering effective and cut through design communications for Shaped By and our clients.
This role requires proven agency experience to be able to effectively tackle this role.
Required skills What’s expected from you- Within the studio you are responsible for maintaining world‑class creative skills and standards within your discipline and actively mentoring junior team members
- Confident in taking ownership of work streams and driving day‑to‑day progress in collaboration with creative leads, project leads and clients
- Excellent knowledge and hands‑on skills with industry tools:
Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and a healthy appetite to explore integrating AI into work streams while maintaining a curated human craft - Experience and confidence in delivering a project from initial concept to completed project, whether that be a digital platform, user experience, campaign activation or art working for print etc
- Experience and confidence in facilitating and presenting internally and through creative client meetings, with minimal input from your senior team
- You will be great at organising and prioritising yours and others’ workload to deliver creative solutions on time and on budget
- Confident in supporting creative and project leads in identifying needs and relevant talent for work streams at kick off stage as well as during projects
- Must be comfortable working in a demanding, fast‑paced environment under tight deadlines
- Excite and inspire people around you – both colleagues and clients – and earn their respect and confidence.
- Mentor junior staff and support recruitment and retention initiatives, coordinate and manage one to one discussions and continual assessments & personal progression plans.

- This is hybrid role only – operating 2 days flexible working and 3 days studio time at Paint works Bristol
- Working hours Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm, with one hour available for lunch each day. 37 ½ hours per week
