Lake Compounce Campground – Seasonal Guest Experience Lead – Lodging

Roles & Responsibilities- Answer phones, make reservations, check guests in/out, and provide courteous, professional service to create a memorable experience.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance and keep the front desk area sanitized.
- Utilize the property management system to process payments, maintain a cash drawer, and operate office equipment while ensuring PCI compliance.
- Operate internal communication devices (PBX switchboard) efficiently and answer/transfers calls.
- Deliver guest amenities, partner with housekeeping and maintenance to resolve requests promptly, and ensure guest complaints are addressed.
- Provide guests with information about nearby parks and in‑park events.
- Escalate maintenance issues or emergencies to the appropriate authorities.
- Document overnight shift happenings and update lodging leadership.
- All other duties assigned by leadership.
- Assist with daily supervision of the guest experience/front desk team and other assigned departments.
- Lead by example, embody Lake Compounce’s core values, and serve as an approachable mentor and coach.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Become knowledgeable in all assigned front desk positions and backfill them when needed.
- Participate in new‑hire training activities for all assigned employees.
- Ensure required meal and other breaks are given in accordance with Connecticut law.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- 1+ year of previous hospitality or front desk experience required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English and Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work for the scheduled shift.
- Ability to comply with all uniform policies.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to resolve questions, problems, and concerns positively.
- Positive, outgoing, professional attitude with the ability to handle pressure and difficult situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to accurately use POS and/or other cash handling equipment.
- Ability to use office technology and equipment (PC, software, copier).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Ability to follow direction, multi‑task, and work as part of a team and independently.
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for the majority of the workday.
- Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders.
- Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods while using a computer.
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Based in an indoor lodging setting, predominantly at the front desk.
- Potential exposure to variable outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.
- Subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reprioritize activities.
- Subject to constant repetitive motion.
