Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering engaging English lessons, developing and implementing innovative literacy strategies, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a consistent and effective approach to literacy across the curriculum.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the national curriculum, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record of driving academic success.

You will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest educational research and trends, and to share your expertise with the wider teaching team.

In addition to your teaching duties, you will be responsible for leading the literacy initiative within the school, working closely with the senior leadership team to set and achieve ambitious goals.

This will involve overseeing the implementation of literacy-focused interventions, providing ongoing support and training to colleagues, and analysing data to identify areas for improvement.

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our students
• Develop and implement innovative literacy strategies to support the school's overall literacy improvement plan
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and effective approach to literacy across the curriculum
• Analyse student data to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions
• Provide ongoing training and support to teaching staff, sharing best practices and the latest educational research
• Lead the literacy initiative within the school, working closely with the senior leadership team to set and achieve ambitious goals
• Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities and events
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Degree in English or a related subject
• Proven track record of successful English teaching experience, preferably in a leadership role
• Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
• Passion for literacy and a commitment to driving academic success
