At Avonside School, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring IT / Computer Science Teacher (or Instructor) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to use your expertise to engage, motivate and empower young people with additional needs through creative and meaningful learning experiences. You’ll also introduce vocational learning opportunities that broaden horizons and inspire future aspirations. Working closely with colleagues, therapists and families, you’ll adapt your teaching to meet individual needs, ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to achieve success.

What

You’ll Be Doing
  • Deliver engaging IT and Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, linked to the National Curriculum.
  • Develop pupils  core digital skills, preparing them for further education, employment and independent living.
  • Plan and deliver personalised learning experiences that meet a wide range of SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, supporting pupils  academic progress, wellbeing and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with the therapy team to create a curriculum that reflects pupils  individual needs.
  • Monitor progress and use assessment data to implement effective interventions and improve outcomes.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of SEND provision and inclusive practice across the school.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure joined-up support.
