  • Contribute/lead civil design packages of feasibility, optioneering, design and delivery for flood risk and erosion risk management and sustainable drainage systems.
  • Develop and review civil engineering deliverables including calculations, models, drawings and technical reports, ensuring compliance with CESWI, UK regulations, client standards and BIM requirements while promoting safe, sustainable and buildable solutions.
  • Attend site visits for data acquisition and meetings with site operators.
  • Discussions and liaison with technology providers and vendors.
  • Support design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination, driving practical material selection and construction approaches (including consideration of off‑site fabrication where appropriate) within programme and budget constraints.
  • Provide design support during delivery phases, including reviewing contractor submissions, answering design queries, and supporting handover/commissioning activities when required.
  • Contribute to business development and work winning: identify opportunities, shape scopes, contribute to bids.

  • Strong capability in civil design software and digital delivery environments, such as Civil 3D, drainage and hydraulic modelling tools, GIS platforms and BIM-enabled workflows.
  • Solid understanding of CDM designer duties and sustainable engineering principles, with experience contributing to low‑carbon, practical infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience supporting projects delivered via frameworks, alliances and/or D&B models, including participation in design reviews and technical assurance processes.
