Commissioning Engineer – Southwest & Wales

We are looking for talented, technical and innovative individuals with a passion for engineering to join our team in the Southwest and Wales Region.

Full health and safety program and systems and product training program is available for all successful applicants.

Mission
  • Collaborate within a team framework, contributing skills, innovations and ideas to our engineering team of project managers, project engineers and commissioning engineers.
  • Commission solutions as part of customer orders, incorporating software, graphics, installation and commissioning of building management control systems and third‑party integration.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing customers so that we become their trusted expert in all aspects of works.
  • Maintain and implement Schneider Electric Core Values.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for themselves and others at office or site locations, following project method statements and risk assessments.
  • Set up servers and workstations on site and load software and licenses.
  • Pre‑commission control panels and field devices onto new and existing systems.
  • Commission controllers, networks and field devices into a complete control system.
  • Integrate third‑party systems onto existing BMS systems.
  • Write and commission controller software through Function Block Editor.
  • Configure and draw end‑user graphics to represent building controls.
  • Document commissioning progress, site reports and assist with operations and maintenance manuals.
  • Hand over and demonstrate the completed system to customer or consultant.
  • Manage installations and subcontractors with the support of project managers.
  • Support Schneider Electric and client support teams on new and existing projects.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Background in electrical engineering or a related subject is preferable.
  • Experience in a similar technical role is advantageous; on‑the‑job training will be provided.
  • Experience in a customer‑focused environment.
  • Experience in on‑site commissioning and site experience is preferred.
  • Experience in BMS software and graphics is preferred, but training is provided.
  • Experience with Eco Struxture product or legacy products Sigma, Vista or Continuum is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Some accreditations in HVAC controls, BCIA or CIBSE are advantageous.
  • Strong interest and passion in STEM (science, engineering, technology or mathematics).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Fluent English (written and verbal).
  • Full driving licence.
  • Preferred: ability to travel within the Southwest and Wales region.
