Sweco Building Control is the leading Building Control consultancy in England and Wales, providing market‑leading expertise as a Registered Building Control Approver since 1998. We pride ourselves on our quality and technical expertise that underpins our full suite of Building Control services, and we listen and engage with our clients to anticipate regulatory issues and deliver successful projects.

We are currently looking for motivated Class 2 and 3 Building Inspectors to join our team. We operate a hybrid model which typically involves three days in the office or on site and two days at home, depending on the need for site visits or client meetings.

What does the role involve?

You will manage a broad and interesting range of projects as a member of a highly motivated team and will have responsibility for:

  • Undertaking plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval.
  • Undertaking site visits, preparing site visit reports, witnessing tests (a full, valid driving licence is essential).
  • Attending client and design team meetings to give professional advice regarding building control work.
  • Being familiar with and using the management systems, including compliance with the Quality Management system.
  • Operating in accordance with the commercial requirements of the projects (costs and programme).

  • A qualified and experienced expert with a commitment to excellence.
  • RBI Registration with solid Building Control experience.
  • RICS, CABE, CIOB or similar accreditation.
