PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESComprehend and follow shop procedures, standard practice instructions, prints, diagrams and other written and verbal instructions.
Review product standards and customer requirements to determine proper procedures for product testing.
Ensure the test department is verifying proper or faulty components, interpreting engineering and customer specifications and quality inspection requirements.
Specify, procure, and implement new test equipment.
Train associates in department on procedures, standard practices instructions, prints, diagrams, PLCs, as well as other testing related functions.
Manipulate apparatus and components to required workstations, equipment, stations and positions.
Use proper hand tools and air tools.
Comprehend and observe all safety and quality standards and participate in Kaizan and Area Focus Teams.
Use team concepts to work toward continuous improvement, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
Work with Engineering, design personnel, and Production Control to solve problems, correct documentation, and promote a smooth workflow throughout the department.
Using manual tools, occasional solvents, and cleaning supplies to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Adhere to and comply with all company policies and procedures.
Adjust working hours to assist company in meeting goals and objectives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSAssociate's degree in electrical engineering with 5 or more years in electrical product testing or Batchelor's degree in electrical engineering. This requirement may be waived in lieu of equivalent experience as determined by the Vice President of Engineering and/or the Director of Human Resources.
Experience in the assigned discipline.
PREFERRED SKILLSFamiliarity of pertinent standards including but not limited to MSHA, UL, IEEE, ANSI and NEMA.
Experience with control systems.
$70,/year
