An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Private Client Tax Semi-Senior or Senior to join a highly regarded independent accountancy practice based in Bristol.

This role would suit an individual looking to develop their career within a collaborative and relationship-led environment, where there is genuine opportunity to gain broad exposure across both compliance and advisory work whilst working closely with experienced senior professionals.

The firm acts for a diverse portfolio of private clients including directors, entrepreneurs, property investors, high-net-worth individuals, and owner-managed businesses. As a result, the work is varied, technically interesting, and far more client-focused than many larger or heavily process-driven firms.

The Opportunity:

• Managing a portfolio of private client tax compliance work including self-assessment tax returns.

• Exposure to Capital Gains Tax, income tax planning, and ad-hoc advisory assignments.

• Supporting with tax planning projects for business owners, directors, and high-net-worth individuals.

• Liaising directly with clients and building long-term professional relationships.

• Working closely with senior leadership and gaining hands-on mentorship and technical development.

• Opportunity to broaden advisory exposure over time rather than remaining solely compliance-focused.

• Hybrid and flexible working environment with a strong emphasis on work-life balance and staff wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate :

• Experience working within Private Client Tax in an accountancy practice environment.

• ATT qualified, CTA studying, qualified by experience, or ACA/ACCA with tax exposure.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Comfortable managing client relationships and working collaboratively within a team.

• Someone looking for a long-term opportunity within a supportive and progressive independent practice.
