We are seeking a self-motivated, efficient administrator to join our admin team in the Electronic Assistive Technology Service at the Bristol Centre for Enablement! Located at our Bristol base, you will be co-ordinating with team members and patients over multiple sites across the Southwest region.
You will work collaboratively with the clinical and technical teams to facilitate booking of appointments, referral processing, diary management, equipment ordering and receipt for the service. Your ability to communicate clearly and manage enquiries with sensitivity and understanding will be essential as the first point of contact for professionals and for patients, some of whom may have communication difficulties and/or be in emotional distress.
You will play a vital role in a busy and varied environment with frequent interruptions. You must be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills with the ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure. Multitasking to a high level and prioritising workloads, whilst remaining responsive to the immediate needs of our patients and team, will support the effective running of a rewarding and valued service.
The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Extensive administrative experience within a pressured environment
- Clear and confident communication skills

Main duties of the jobAs one of the administrators within the Electronic Assistive Technology team, you will:
- Co-ordinate appointments, liaise and respond to external healthcare professionals, patients, their families and carers
- Synchronise diaries and arrange work schedules for a busy professional and multi-disciplinary team including booking of appointments
- Receive incoming requests from patients, carers, relatives and other healthcare professionals for repair/replacement of parts and assist in allocation of daily workloads
- Act as a contact point for the service
- Order equipment, receive and sort incoming stock, and update the electronic database (BEST)
- Be responsible for maintaining the electronic database for stock management
The Electronic Assistive Technology Service South West offers specialist assessment, provision and ongoing support of equipment for patients of all ages with a range of medical conditions resulting in physical impairment. The service predominantly focusses on controlling the environment and accessing computer technology. This is delivered by a team of Clinical Scientists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Technicians. The service's administrative support is located at the main hub at the Bristol Centre for Enablement however, to meet the needs of the Southwest region the service also has smaller bases in Plymouth and Truro.

- Maintain the electronic patient database
- Production of work orders for technical and clinical teams
- Closing of completed work orders and logging of repair details, equipment issued, and planned maintenance results
