We are looking for a passionate clinician to join our service and lead our CAMHS Getting Advice Team. You would be working in partnership with our Clinical Service Manager and Team Manager to manage a service supporting triaging referrals into CAMHS, and offering assessment and intervention to young people with mental health difficulties. You will support the continuing development of the team to include functions such as self referrals.

We would want you to ensure excellent standards are upheld, and maintained within the team, and ensure the best use of available resources by delivering positive outcomes for individual service users and their families.

Working in partnership with the Clinical Service Manager and Team Manager, the post holder will ensure excellent clinical standards are maintained within the team, and ensure the best use of available resources by delivering positive outcomes for individual service users and their families.

The post-holder will manage and lead a multi-disciplinary team and the Primary Mental Health Specialists in a community Child and Adolescent Mental Health setting.

This post is a permanent part time post.

Main duties of the job

The Getting Advice Team is considered the front door to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We triage all referrals into CAMHS, offer outreach assessments and intervention to young people.

The post holder will work in partnership with the Clinical Service Manager and existing Team Manager to lead the Getting Advice Team.

They will ensure the needs of children and young people remain central to clinical decision making and that all referrals are reviewed and responded to in a timely manner throughout the triage process.

In addition to providing leadership, the post holder will offer line management and clinical supervision to members of the Getting Advice Team and the Primary Mental Health Specialists.

They will also hold their own case load, offering assessment and delivering intervention to young people and their families.

A key aspect of the role includes developing and maintaining effective partnerships with other agencies, signposting to appropriate services, and providing consultation to professionals considering referrals into CAMHS.

The role also includes supporting continuing service development including offering assessment and intervention, the advice line and developing self- referrals, involving service users in the development of these processes and ensure children, young people and parents and carers are involved in this process.

To have oversight of the process of receiving and responding to EHCP requests on behalf of the service.
