Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant General Manager to join a busy student accommodation property in Bristol. This role will support the overall performance of the residence, helping to ensure smooth daily operations and a consistently positive experience for residents and visitors. Acting as a key support to the General Manager, you will contribute to team coordination, service delivery and operational planning, playing an important role in maintaining standards across multiple departments within the property.

The position will be particularly focused on supporting peak operational periods, including resident arrivals and departures, where strong organisation and customer focus will be essential.

Key

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day-to-day management and coordination of property operations
  • Support and guide on-site teams to maintain high service and presentation standards
  • Help oversee resident journeys including enquiries, arrivals and ongoing engagement
  • Contribute to planning and delivery of key operational periods and turnover activity
  • Respond to resident feedback and help resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Support compliance, health & safety processes and operational procedures
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors to ensure effective service delivery
Skills & Experience
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across teams and with residents
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing a varied workload
  • Previous experience supporting teams or supervising within accommodation, hospitality or property settings
  • Strong organisational approach with attention to detail and problem‑solving capability
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience using internal systems or databases
  • Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to motivate others and contribute to team culture
  • Awareness of health & safety expectations within an operational or residential environment (beneficial)
