We're seeking a dedicated Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to join our mission of creating the world's safest work environment. As a WHS Manager, you will be the site's safety champion, leading our Global WHS Program implementation. You'll combine hands‑on safety management with strategic thinking to protect our most valuable asset – our people. Your role bridges the gap between safety requirements and operational success, requiring both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Driving safety initiatives in collaboration with Operations leadership to create a safer work environment.
• Conducting comprehensive risk assessments, analyzing safety data, and implementing practical solutions that protect associates while supporting productivity.
• Leading safety compliance efforts, conducting thorough site audits, and analyzing incident trends to target improvements.
• Managing the first‑aid program and emergency response capabilities to ensure immediate care is always available.
• Transforming safety data into actionable insights and engaging associates in the safety mission.
• Working a flexible schedule with 50–70% travel and various shifts.
• Maintaining physical capacity to lift up to 49 pounds, stand or walk up to 12 hours, work in variable noise, temperature, and weather conditions, climb and descend stairs, and provide emergency care.

Must obtain adult First Aid, CPR, or AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 3 weeks of start date if not already certified.

• Safety Leadership & Innovation – Transform safety culture through leadership and innovative solutions, drive continuous improvement initiatives, leverage technology and data analytics to drive preventive safety measures, develop leadership plans, measure performance, and conduct site audits.
• Strategic Partnership & Influence – Build partnerships with Operations leadership, use data analysis and risk insights to influence positive change, serve as a trusted advisor, and oversee record‑keeping, workplace organization, and WHS training programs.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
• 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety (blue badge/FTE) experience.

• Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with a mix of exempt and non‑exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
• Master’s degree.
• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
• Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization.
• Certified Safety Professional.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leader.
• Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem‑solving ability.

Base salary range for this position: 63,000.00 – 94,600.00 USD annually (USA, VA, Bristol). Salary includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) and is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
