Supervisor, Security

Position Summary

The incumbent is responsible for managing security activities to ensure the safety and security of gaming and entertainment guests and team members, as well as the safeguarding of all property. The role ensures all potential security violations are investigated and corrective actions are taken while providing exceptional customer service.

• Assist the shift manager with the overall security of the casino and coordinate security efforts to safeguard company assets, employees, and patrons in accordance with Internal Control Submissions and Virginia Lottery rules.
• Maintain assigned security posts and guard the transfer of money, chips, and jackpots.
• Perform hopper fills, table fills, and table credits.
• Train, evaluate, and recommend disciplinary action for officers.
• Patrol premises to discourage inappropriate behavior and take action when necessary.
• Write investigative and incident reports.
• Address any individual not wearing a Commission Badge found in non‑public areas or any person found in areas not authorized to be in.
• Assume overall responsibility for security operations during the absence of the Security Shift Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to all Virginia Lottery Regulations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of guest service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of progressive experience in security operations and supervisory experience preferred.

• Obtain and maintain all licenses and certifications required by Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery regulations.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must be at least twenty‑one (21) years of age.
• Obtain a CPR/AED certificate and complete Blood Borne Pathogen training.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.
• Prior experience in the gaming industry and opening new properties/outlets strongly preferred.

• Computer applications for composing clear, concise, and accurate reports.
• County and state ordinances; electronic, video, and alarm functions.
• Investigative procedures and procedures for maintaining extreme confidentiality.

• Availability to work different types of events with varying schedules and days as needed.
• Read and comprehend all necessary documentation, training materials, and policy information.
• Assist sick or injured guests and team members.
• Communicate courteously, effectively, and professionally with guests and all levels of team members.
• Use tools and equipment such as radios, computers, and other position‑specific equipment.
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Communicate clearly in English with guests in a professional manner.
• Adhere to Hard Rock Casino established policies and guidelines.
