Salary: £23,280 (with annual increments)

Entry Requirements: Five full GCSEs at grades 4-9 including English Language and Mathematics, and Two A Levels at minimum grade C

The NAD Group brings together key MOD organisations to provide integrated capabilities faster and more efficiently for our armed forces and allies. This apprenticeship gives you hands‑on experience while working towards a Level 4 qualification and involves spotting risks, understanding threats and supporting the team in keeping the organisation safe and secure.

You will rotate across specialist Security Profession teams, gaining experience in personnel, physical and cyber security. Your key responsibilities include:

• Identifying emerging threats and uncovering vulnerabilities before they become risks
• Supporting the assessment of complex security challenges
• Helping design smart, proportionate solutions that keep Defence secure and resilient
• Shaping and delivering engaging security briefings
• Maintaining and analysing asset and risk registers that inform key decisions
• Contributing to real‑world protective security planning and assurance activity
• Building confidence communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
• Championing best practice across DE S, strengthening our security culture

By the end of your apprenticeship you will have an understanding of security and be actively influencing it, developing the essential skills and mindset needed to become a future Protective Security Adviser.

• Security Check (SC) clearance required
• Right to work in the UK (DE S does not sponsor visas)
• UK residency for the last 5 years
• Must not hold existing higher‑level qualifications in the same or a similar subject
• Must no longer be in full‑time education by the start of the scheme
• Pass at online assessment stage
• Final‑year students can apply with official predicted grades; all qualifications must be evidenced by the end of August 2026 (equivalent level qualifications will also be considered)
