Overview

At Places for People, we hire People, not numbers! If you feel inspired by what we do, you might be a good fit. We value those who embody our People Promises – doing the right thing, being enthusiastic, motivated, community‑oriented, respectful, and enjoying their work.

More about your role

We are looking for a Customer Support Coordinator to join our Bristol team. You will support customers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, ensuring the safe provision of accommodation within our scheme. The role involves:

  • Working closely with customers to develop and deliver intensive housing management and support services for vulnerable people in temporary or dispersed accommodation.
  • Managing a small caseload of customers, coordinating with group staff and external agencies and professionals to provide a holistic, high‑standard service.
  • Helping new customers sign up to the service and offering advice and guidance on welfare and benefits.
  • Maintaining the scheme through risk assessments, health and safety monitoring, and working with the housing management team on repairs, voids and maintenance.
  • Ensuring a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check is held.

This post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check, and all applicants will undergo a thorough background screening.

More about you

We need someone spirited, positive and supportive, comfortable in challenging situations, and resilient. Ideal candidates will:

  • Have experience working in potentially challenging settings and supporting a vulnerable client group.
  • Possess a good knowledge of housing management best practice, letting procedures and tenancy compliance.
  • Be an effective communicator, confident IT user and capable of influencing positively when needed.
  • Have local knowledge to share with our customers.
  • Possess a good knowledge of the benefits system (desirable but not essential).
Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you in your role:

  • Competitive salary with yearly reviews
  • Pension with matched contributions up to 7%
  • Excellent holiday package – up to 35 days annual leave with the option to buy or sell leave
  • Cashback plan for healthcare costs – up to £500 saving per year
  • Bonus scheme for all colleagues at 2%
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Extra perks including discounts and offers from shops, cinemas and more
