Role Overview
Probation Services Officer – Ashley House Approved Premises, Bristol. This role delivers community‑based supervision and support to high‑risk offenders released from prison, ensuring public protection and aiding transition into the community.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of offenders before and after sentence, including assessment, risk management and rehabilitation planning.
- Provide case management support, produce accurate reports to tight deadlines and maintain proper documentation.
- Engage with courts, agencies and community services to coordinate interventions and interventions.
- Support offenders with practical advice on housing, employment, and other needs; listen and empathise while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Enforce overnight curfew and other monitoring requirements, operating within a 24‑hour shift environment.
- Personal qualities: empathy, patience, resilience, strong written communication skills.
- Experience working with people who have social or personal difficulties; no degree required.
- Right to work in the UK and, if applicable, compliance with current Skilled Worker visa rules.
Full‑time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with weekend coverage as required. The role is based at Ashley House Approved Premises and is not suitable for hybrid working.
Salary and BenefitsStarting salary £28,064 with annual pay progression through the Competency Based Framework. Benefits include 25 days annual leave (increases to 30 days after five years), pension (LGPS), extensive training, and a range of support programmes.
